This article examines Justice Antonio Carlos Ferreira’s contributions to Brazilian Civil Procedure, particularly within the Superior Court of Justice. His work in repetitive appeals and in consolidating understandings on topics such as attorney’s fees, time limits, admissibility of appeals, and non-attachment are particularly noteworthy. The author emphasizes the Justice’s leading role in interpreting Article 833, Section X, of the Code of Civil Procedure, which addresses the non-attachment of funds intended for the minimum subsistence level, expanding protection beyond traditional savings. His decisions reflect a balance between enforcement effectiveness and debtor dignity, reconciling legal certainty and social sensitivity. By standardizing case law and strengthening qualified precedents, Antonio Carlos Ferreira contributes to a more coherent, predictable, and humane civil process.
