This article analyzes Justice Antonio Carlos Ferreira’s contribution to the consolidation of arbitration in Brazil, highlighting his work at the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). Based on an examination of judgments he reported on and participated in, the text addresses the three phases of arbitration—pre-arbitration, arbitration, and postarbitration— evidencing his defense of the autonomy of the arbitral tribunal and the principle of jurisdiction. The Justice has reaffirmed the importance of judicial review limited to formal matters, safeguarding the independence of arbitral decisions and strengthening legal certainty. His proarbitration stance reveals his commitment to efficient dispute resolution, access to justice, and the institutional development of arbitration in the country, making his career worthy of recognition and honor.
