The Law 14,112/20, which amended Law 11,101/05, dealt with the counting of deadlines in the context of judicial reorganizations and bankruptcies. However, the wording of article 189 of Law 11,101/05, with the reform, was insufficient to clarify with certainty how the deadlines are counted in the context of judicial reorganizations and bankruptcies, bringing difficulties to the professional who works in the area. The interpretation of the the aforementioned rule is not yet settled by the courts. Thus, until the Superior Tribunal de Justiça decides the issue, the deadlines, as a precaution, must be counted in consecutive days, except in case records where there is an express decision defining the counting of the deadlines in business days.
