Abstract

This article honors Minister Antonio Carlos Ferreira, highlighting his significant contribution to the evolution of the jurisprudence of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). It presents his professional trajectory, which began at Caixa Econômica Federal, where he promoted innovative conciliation methods, and his work at the STJ since 2011. It analyzes two landmark precedents from his rapporteurship: the application of the Theory of Substantial Performance, based on objective good faith, and the possibility of installment payments of court fees, as a way to realize Access to Justice. The text highlights his commitment to legal certainty, proportionality, and the realization of fundamental rights, emphasizing his balanced and humanistic approach to the application of law.
